Email has been around for some time. Do you remember the 90's (in the previous century of course!)? When e-mail began to be used by the average person, it was a great novelty to be able to send a message to someone and have one's name appear on the outgoing message. In the old days if your name was Joe or Jane Soap, it was great to send an email with the name appearing for all to see: "Here's a message from JOE SOAP!" You'll probably see that a lot of people like to include signatures at the bottom of their emails too. They do it in order to get people to know who they are!

In today's times, it seems a lot of us out there are not as much interested in letting others know who we are. Who has time to even enter one's name in the message any longer? When emails go from one to the other, all we know is that "J.S." sent it. There may not even be a phone number to call - and even if there is, most prefer never to answer their phones - but to rather simply have a paid-for voicemail message to let others know just how important one really is. When we've got time - we'll get back to you!

Have you ever stood back and seen who the really successful people are in the world? You'll know their names! You may even know an email address to contact them at! You'll probably see regular videos of them teaching others just a little something of what they're up to and how they managed to get where they got to.

If you're looking to get out there - looking to make money - you'll need to know that you'll probably get some of it from other people! If so, it's a great idea to begin by giving yourself an identity. Use your name and let others know how they can contact you. You have nothing to fear - because this is you... unless of course it's not... unless of course you need to hide from others!

So sit back, think about who you are, and what you do. Think about all the means of communications you have to reach others - and then... don't be afraid to use your identity or all these means available. Answer an email (with politeness and even your signature!) Answer your phone - and leave voicemail turned on only for the times when you really can't get to it! Use your name (all of it!) when communicating with others. And mostly - don't be afraid to let others know just how easily contactable you are - and that you're always ready to help!

Value the Other's Money - as Much as Your Own

It's important to have money. One can't do much without it. Do you own a home? You'll probably realise it cost you... money. Do you own a car? Again - it doesn't take much to realise that it's impossible to own it without... money. What about food and clothing? Do you ever eat or have the need to clothe yourself? What about an extra pair of shoes or even another pair of pyjamas?! Do you think you deserve to own at least two suits - or two beautiful skirts? Some laugh! Only two?! Some have walk-in wardrobes to accommodate their clothing.

What about a holiday - every now and again? Do you think you deserve it? Think about it... it all costs money! But have you ever considered the person you're actually doing business with? Did you ever think that maybe he/she too needs the basics to live? A home! A car to get around in! They even need food and clothing to live. And if they have kids, they may even need money to educate them too. There's books to buy, and then of course the six month visit to the dentist... Do you go regularly?!

We're so focused on our own needs in life, that we very often forget that the other guy has a need to live too. Do you know that though you're happy to find a way to make the deal better on your side - you may well be taking from where you shouldn't - and thereby not allowing the other to live - just as well as you do?!

Life - and wealth of course - is about respecting the other - just as much as one respects oneself. It's about wanting for the other at least as much as one wants for oneself. So next time you're typing in words in a Google search to find a site to make you a millionaire - don't forget, we'd all like to become one. Go for the target, but never forget that all the people who will help you to get there - are just as much people - as you are. They too need to live and enjoy life as much as you do.

Success comes from an appreciation of the other's greatness - just as much as one's own. Success is about valuing the other and their wealth - just as much as valuing oneself and one's own wealth.

Making the "millions" in life we're all looking for - is about seeing the other - just like we see ourselves. That makes one a true millionaire.

Be Satisfied with Your Lot

Our daily lives are made up - from morning to night - with the desire for more. It seems we cannot stop ourselves from looking for the next best thing around that will help us to gain more. And by more - we usually mean money! I'm no expert when it comes to monitoring every possible Google search, but there are enough "How do I become a millionaire?" and "How do I use 'Internet tool...' to become a millionaire?" searches around to know that people are looking for that quick fix of instantaneously coming into A LOT of wealth - and fast! Ironically - when you do these searches, you'll be presented with hundreds of thousands of "know it all" sites that will lead you (apparently!) to becoming a millionaire. Once you've been through them all, you may wonder why it still hasn't happened - and if per chance you did find that one in a "million" site that does seem to answer all your questions, you may be wondering why the person himself had such a need to share his/her secrets with the world if indeed they've already hit the jackpot!

Maybe that magical site isn't really out there after all. If you do know it, please pass it on, I'd like to add it as a link on my own site. It will generate tremendous traffic for me and assist me in reaching that target audience I myself am looking for. So how are we going to ever get it? I mean the millions, the wealth and all that glorious happiness we think the Internet will give us? (Internet: That place many of us spend hours of time on each day in the hope of getting something better in life than life itself.)

A great man by the name of Simon ben Zoma asked a question. He said, "Who is happy?" and he answered, "He who is happy with his lot - he who is happy with his portion (in life.)" His wording was accurate, he did not say, "he who is happy with his Lotto winnings," nor did he say, "he who is happy with his Porshe." Rather he chose to stop himself a syllable or two before the material objects - and confine himself to higher "spiritual" pursuits.

We keep looking at the neighbour - and his wonderful garden which always seems so green! And we keep wondering why the grass is always greener on the other side. Until sometimes, one peers over and realises there's also a nasty smell coming from it - and as one peeks over, one sees that it's actually filled with manure! Sure it's green - sometimes! But that's often because of the "manure" that ends up dirtying the air for everyone else - and himself!

We need to refocus - and see what it is that we do have - every single day. Achieving that great goal - double where we are now - is always in front of us. But we cannot forget and must not forget to look at ourselves and what we do have. Is it a husband/wife? Children maybe? A holiday we've been able to experience together (even though we don't own the four by four to get us there!) Or maybe it was just a day spent together at home enjoying each others' company.

I guess it's not only manure that can make the grass greener after all. It may be just a little more water... and perhaps some sunshine too... just a little more often...

Value a Telegram

Do you ever wonder if our communication and technology of today is better than it was years ago? It's great to have devices that send messages around the world in a split second. There's just so much to say! But are we becoming better for it all? Are our messages nicer, cleaner, more encouraging? Have we lost touch with the value of a word - now that it's relatively cheap to send "reams" of lengthy emails whenever (and to whomever!) we want? And are relationships improving because of these fast and lengthy emails?

Do you remember the old telegram? Do you even know what it is (if you're not of the "older" generation)?! Now there was something worthwhile. We valued every single word, and before writing it, we made certain to consider if it was really necessary. We made sure that only the message we wanted to send - was sent! We knew that each word cost money - BIG money... and so we thought things out before "clicking the send button."

It seems we've lost our appreciation for the value of a word. There's much we can do with it, but we need to think like we did in the days of telegrams. It's so easy to break relationships, lose customers, friends and even family - simply because we're just too wordy - when it comes to sending an email - or even writing a blog post!

Don't ever forget the good 'ole days. The one's when people were valued, and words cost a lot (a great comparison for the "value" of a relationship!) Keep emails short - and personal interactive communication "long." If you're seeking the "millions" in your life, value every word - especially when it comes to writing an email. The shorter, the better. The more thought out... the stronger it will be and you'll say just what you want in a hundredth of the time!

Stay away from long emails. Pick up the phone. Meet in person - and make relationships that are meaningful and real!

Order - A Great Method to Being Successful

You're unique - granted! Isn't that what makes you so great? So you feel the need to just explode with uniqueness - wherever you are - right? It's definitely a way to be you. And it's definitely a way to get some attention.

But what really makes us great? Is it the explosion? Is it the absolute extroversion we display? Or is there more to it? I saw a great video yesterday (see below) that seemed to bring it all out. It's not just about being "out-there" that makes for success. There's also a measure of aesthetic beauty. There's this need to appreciate that what really makes one stand out most - is when one realises that one is a part of a bigger whole. There are so many trees, and so many plants, so many animals - and of course so many people around! But when everybody takes their place, real beauty happens.

Sure, we all want to be the band leader... the star of the show... The conductor! But what about just being you - right there as a part of it all. So someone will be in front, and someone at the back - and there may even be a host of others right in between. But when everybody takes their place neatly and keeps in time with the music - there's some real beauty that shows itself - to ourselves and others.

Focus on what you have and who you are. Focus on the team you're a part of, and how we can all take our roles - and in this way all end up enjoying the music of life. It's about give and take. No need to take from something that doesn't belong to one. Just to take one's own position. That's what being successful with life is all about. Money - or family, friends or just acquaintanceship - if you're looking for the "millions" - be yourself and be a part of the bigger song of life!

A Real Person - a Lot Like You...

So we're in a real world. And we're here to live - and to live well - to live with happiness! Remember the old days? The days before the Internet and cellphones?! Sometimes there'd be just one phone for the family - attached to a wall outlet and confined next to a lazy chair! It may not even have had voice mail! Back in those days one had to purchase an answering machine!

Back then, real people used to talk to... real people. You may even remember them saying hello on a telephone call or even "how are you?" and they really meant it! Days before email typing was such a burden that there became a need for SMS and "texting" - leaving the formalities of "Hi friend!" and "Best Regards, your Pal!" completely out the picture.

But that's what real life is about. That's because real people are exactly that. They're real! They're not a machine. They're not an email. And they're not some slave who does everything at the exact moment in time you want them to - just because you've already sent your email to them! We need to wake ourselves up and out of this hazy new-world of illusions and hallucinations - to thinking like we once did - and see each other for the real people we really are.

If it's wealth you're looking for - or an extra good relationship with your spouse, family or friends - or even your clients - take a deep breath, and as you do so (and watch the wonderful video clip below) consider new possibilities of the value of someone else's life. You'll probably find out just how special they really are... just like you!

Moving in Different Directions

When I began my blog, I thought about using it simply as a means to provide some lessons about Internet-Life. Lessons in how to use some of the wonderful programs and applications available on the Internet to help users find ways to make income through the Internet. There's really a lot out there.

After a few really great lessons, I considered what direction to take and how best to make the blog worthwhile. After all, I think the Internet is a great place (when used correctly!) to generate income. Just take a look back at my previous posts and open your eyes to the variety of tools available to generating income. Even with those lessons alone, there's an infinite world of income waiting to be earned! The great thing is that everybody can benefit.

Both buyer and seller - or even friends and family - interacting, stand the chance of conducting transactions easily and with speed. The Internet has given us so many opportunities. I wonder how much people want to find out about how to use the tools I've suggested already and how much they'd really like to know about the "ins and outs" of them.

But I've been thinking it over. The Internet's tools for making money are great! But there's more to it all. There's so much more in making money than this. If you're really looking to succeed then know that it's also about just being a real person - a decent person - an honest person! There's more about being real and sincere. Sometimes, the Internet has taken away our "real-person" lives. I've just been thinking about the best way to go about it, but I have some new ideas.

I'd like you to come along with me on the journey I'll be taking from now - whenever and as often as I can post, and I'd be happy to hear your comments and questions - or just when you feel something has made a difference.

Finding the Perfect Image - Google Images & Google Swirl

When you're involved in your blog and web design, you'll find yourself wanting to use images to attract the attention of others. As they say – a picture is worth a thousand words.

The web is flooded with images to choose from. A note of caution though – many images are copyright. That means you may not use every image you see. However, even if you aren’t going to use the images, you may wish to simply learn about something from seeing it without having to save it and re-use it.

Let's take an example of an image we might wish to see. In the old days, if the average person wanted to learn more about the workings of the body – to see the various parts and how they work, one would have to obtain expensive medical books or encyclopedias in order to see appropriate photographs and diagrams – a costly business – especially if one simply wanted quick access to just one or two images!

Today, one can simply type a word into a search box and immediately find what one needs. Here's another example: In the old days, unless one was a deep-sea diver, one could never hope to see the plethora of fish in the oceans except through purchasing expensive magazines. Today, at the click of a button, one can see just about anything one can imagine exists!

Google provides a number of easy ways to access images. The most basic way to find images is to use the ordinary image search tool. Here's what you need to do:

1. Type in http://images.google.com/
2. In the search box do a search for something that interests you. Example: Heart
3. DONE!

You'll be presented with thousands of images on your choice of topic. Click on any of them to see the image within the web page that it appears. You'll get to learn more about the different parts of the heart and how it all works. From here, you might even get taken to a page that teaches CPR. With a basic understanding of the heart and it's influence on the body (quite important!) – you'll be well prepared to help someone who might stop breathing… All from having learned a little about the anatomy of the heart from a simple Google image search!

This method is a great way to view what you need to, and if the images are not copyright – to be able to use them in your web site or blog to attract additional attention. Don't forget, people who find your images by doing a search using the Google image search will click on them and be taken to your site – increasing traffic – which is the key to successfully getting yourself known on the Internet and beyond.

Google's latest development brings a whole new understanding to image searching. It's called Google Swirl. It's all about searching for a particular image and then finding an assortment of images even more deeply related to the topic you're searching for. If we use the heart as an example, you'll find that Google Swirl will take the same image you're looking for, and find various versions of it. You'll find one with the different parts of the heart labeled. Another will be a photograph and yet another a simple sketch. The Swirl will allow you to view at a glance the type of image you're after with variations on it – so that you can find the most suitable image of exactly what you're looking for. It continues to Swirl around and around until ultimately you find the perfect image.

You can try Google Swirl (still experimental) with the exact same search as you would have done in the image search above, and compare the results you get. You'll begin to get a feeling of which search tool provides you with the better images that you're after.

Here's how to use Google Swirl:

1. Type in http://image-swirl.googlelabs.com/
2. Do a search for something that interests you e.g. Heart
3. DONE!

Compare the selection of images you get via the ordinary image search to the way that the Swirl works, to find which suits you better.

They're both ultimately terrific tools to help you find the image you're after, and ultimately navigate your way to an article somewhere on the web that will help you learn more about what you're after. Once you know that, take the knowledge you have, and share it in an informative way for others to learn from. Drive them to your site, make new friends, new contacts, new networks, and ultimately make the best use of the web to generate further wealth. Good Luck!

This blog is all about getting yourself known out there. If you're wanting to make use of the Internet to generate wealth (which it really can do,) you need to get the entire world to know about you. It's no good just having family and a few friends know about you, because they already know what you can do.

Imagine the biggest marketers in the world today selling their wares to family and friends only… They may not make many sales. In fact they may not make any sales at all! You've probably heard the expression "You can't be a prophet in your own city." In other words, if you walk around your own city dressed up in the most mystical of garments rolling your eyes – even if you *are* a prophet, nobody will believe you. The reason is simple… Since everyone already knows you – and they know you're just an ordinary person, you certainly can't be a prophet! But when you do the same things in another city – you're sure to get a lot of attention with everybody recommending your terrific services.

When it comes to marketing, let the Internet be the place to let yourself get out to the entire world! You can use web pages and blogs. But there's another great place to get yourself known on – Ezines. E-Zine is the shortened form for Electronic magaZINE. In the "old days" one would buy a paper magazine (do they still have them?) – where one could find the articles that appealed to one. Today one can literally find complete magazines online without having to buy the real paper version.

Because ezines became so popular, the Internet expanded itself out to allowing for people to post articles of wisdom and the like in a form that catches people's attention as being authoritative in a particular area. E-zine expanded from the idea of complete magazines to being set up as article directories. Not full magazines, but rather places where hundreds of thousands of authoritative articles exist on just about every subject possible! What area are you an expert in? Animals? Medicine? Law? Accounting? Computers? The subjects are infinite…

Now, imagine for a moment having one Internet site devoted exclusively to the best of articles written by the most authoritative people today (you know, like you and me?) People would flock there every single day to see the latest posts that could help them understand the world better – from an authoritative point of view of course! This article that you are reading – for example – may be considered just that, as I go about sharing with you the benefits of writing educational articles for the world to read.

So here you go… You have the ability to write and you want the world to see your work. You can write on your blog and get "only so much" traffic. Many people will see your article. You can write on your own web site and also generate traffic and begin to make new connections with others – when they realize how smart you are. But imagine a site that is regularly getting hundreds of thousands of hits a day… and people are constantly searching for the topic you're the authority on? They're going to be reading your article!

Then, they'll be so excited about your wisdom that they'll want to learn more about you. They'll click on a link showing them a brief biography of the person whose article they're reading (i.e. you), and then perhaps even see their web site and blogs advertised. THEN they'll click on those sites, and see the real you – that much more closely.

It's another great way to let others know how talented you are – how much you have to share with others, what you are able to share and give to others… and of course be the opening gate for you to introduce what services or products you have to sell. This may even be your own writing.

Someone is bound to see your creativity and greatness and want to employ your services, purchase your products, or hire you to be the next CEO of the next biggest marketing company in the world.

The idea sounds great – you say. Now, how do I actually go about submitting my articles?

I'm going to recommend one terrific site to you. I believe (personally) that it is the biggest available article site on the Internet. You'll get tremendous exposure and you'll see people will find their way to your sites in no time at all, generating extra traffic (which really means extra income in the end) for you. If you don't believe me, why not take a look at my own details on it to see just how many articles I have already written, and how much exposure I've had from it.

Those wishing to learn about other sites, are welcome to be in touch with me directly, and I will be happy to make further recommendations. There are some that even often a few extra pennies for your hard work. That's right! It's a great deal. You write what you enjoy writing, and they pay you. Payment is done on a per view basis. Paypal Israel - Completely Set Up!

Great news to everyone in Israel. If you are looking to do business with overseas clients, whether through a web page, blog or any other means, Paypal – as of this afternoon – is fully compatible with Israeli banks!

For the past year or so, Paypal has allowed Israelis to be able to receive funds via their credit cards with a steep 22 NIS fee. As of today, if you withdraw 1000 shekels at a time directly into your bank account, there is absolutely no fee at all!

What does this mean practically? For one thing, if you are interested in using the Internet as a means to reach out to the world in order to increase your income, you can do so easily by setting up items to sell on your web page or blog with an "Add to Cart" button (or the like.) Those clicking on it will be able to purchase directly from you via credit card or a direct transfer from their own Paypal funds.

For another thing, if you are struggling in Israel and are in need of having someone transfer funds to you directly via a donate option, you can simply set up a donate button on your web page or blog. Those clicking on it will be able to make a donation and you'll be able to transfer this to your bank account directly to reach you from between 3-5 business days – at absolutely no cost at all (so long as you withdraw the minimum 1000 shekel, otherwise there is an 8 shekel fee.)

This is a HUGE milestone in Israeli business and banking, and we can really appreciate the value that Paypal has now added to all of us by allowing us this very easy way of allowing for the possibility of bringing in income from overseas – quickly!

Back up... Backup...

BACK UP… BACKUP…

If you're going to be using your computer and the Internet to generate wealth, you'll find every possible tool for doing so available to you – both online and off. There is one thing you'll need to be very careful about though – your data… your information. Once you get started, whether with blogging, web sites, or any type of computer work, you'll find yourself so carried away with working, that you may forget the actual value of your data. Of course, you'll appreciate the value of your data, but somewhere along the line, you'll take it all for granted.

One of the keys that will aid you in keeping check of your data, information and even your wealth – is keeping your details secure. Today, having your information on your computer alone is simply not enough. You see, with just one virus, a Trojan horse, your hard drive crashing, or a problem with your operating system, you may turn your computer on one day to find it… empty! Imagine the thousands of pictures you've edited, the thousands of documents you're written, the thousands of everything else! And now… it's gone!

There's no turning back once this happens. Time has gone on, and nobody will be interested in your precious information. The salesman who sold you your "flawless" computer (as he told you when he sold it to you) will most likely not even acknowledge you this time around – when you go to him to complain about the real quality of the machine purchased.

As for the CEO of the software company that sold you your operating system – and the rest of the crowd… you may find them interested in your problem if you're willing to spend a little extra, but even then, they won't be guaranteeing any returns on your new "investment."

As for the CEO of the company involved in selling you your 10 000 Terabyte super fast, super stable, super perfect hard disk drive: When it comes to your complaining about the fact that it's just not working any longer – don’t expect his sympathy. You'll be lucky if he's interested in replacing your drive with a brand new one at no charge just to keep you going as a consistent client.

What about your computer technician – the one who is forever fixing your machine when things go wrong? Well, if you haven't called on him in some time – don't blame him that everything has gone. He may well have already warned you about purchasing an external backup device – ready to sell it to you – but you simply felt it a waste of money!

So it's time to face facts and get on with looking after your own work, because anything and everything can go wrong. If it does, and you're not prepared for it, it doesn't matter how expensive your computer was when you purchased it, it doesn't matter how much information you had on it… it will all be gone!

I'm going to suggest just two great backup plans for today. I consider them both golden… so though it may seem like an extra expense – and even a "waste of time" – there may come a time you'll really appreciate these points:

1. Get yourself an external hard drive. You can go to your local computer store and find a range of drives available. You'll find drives of 500GB in size (pretty acceptable by today's standards!) You'll find bigger too, and perhaps some a little smaller. I'd recommend this as a bare minimum by today's standards. Pictures take up huge amounts of space, and the drive gets filled up so quickly, you'll regret buying smaller when you find the constant need to buying more drives later on. Actually if you can, I'd suggest buying at least 1 Terabyte – 1000GB to start with! You'll get them in different physical sizes. They come in even pocket sizes that can literally fit into your pocket. This is great if you ever want to carry it around with you for any reason – or if you want to just keep the drive at someone else's home in case anything happens in your own… It's really easy to store.

HOW TO BACKUP:

Backing up your data onto this drive is really easy. All you need to do is plug the USB cable into your computer, and once it connects, transfer the files you'd like to backup, much like you would copy and paste files within your one computer drive. Select the files you want to back up. Click Ctrl-C to copy the files you want to copy. Click Ctrl-V to paste the files into your new super-duper external backup drive.

2. Your second choice of backup concerns using the Internet to do so. Today, it's become even easier than ever to do. What this means is that once your data is sitting on someone else's machine (i.e. on the Internet), should anything happen to your physical computer (it could be stolen) – or should the data corrupt, you will easily be able to simply download your backed up files onto a new machine. Your data is safe! I must admit that I very much enjoy the idea of knowing my data is safe "somewhere else" (wherever that is!) I know that if data is lost and I've got a backup somewhere else on the Internet, that I don't have to worry about heavy external drives, plugging them in – and then praying that the data will still be safe there. I'm happy to know that my data is available somewhere else safe! I'm also happy to know that should I have to change locations and need my data that isn't currently with me, I can easily download it from the Internet storage location. Today you can backup your entire drive at a minimal cost (even for free!) You can also separate different information to different locations eg. Pictures to one location, documents to another etc.

HOW TO BACKUP ONLINE

Here are a few steps to backing up your data online.

1. GOOD NEWS! As of November 11, Google are now offering all users the possibility of backing up to 16 Terabytes of information for just $4096 a year! Of course you don't need it all. So let me break that down for you… They're charging just $5 a year for 20GB of space. That is an incredible amount of data for a relatively low cost. Where can you use the Google backup? You can use it for pictures – for example. By signing up with Google Picasa, you will get your very own Album space to upload all your photographs. You can choose to keep some albums private so that only you have access to them, or make them all visible. You can upload all your photos here, and keep them as backups online this way.

2. If it's a more general backup program you're after, I recommend Mozy Backup. You get 2GB free! And for every person you recommend, they'll give you another 250MB of space absolutely free! If you need more than this, which you might wish to use later, you'll have to pay a $4.95 fee per month to keep your data safe. It's worth it if you have a lot of data and your data is important to you. But if you just have a few hundred documents that need backup – your 2GB amount will be more than enough and it will be backed up absolutely free. I recommend you try it out, by simply signing up, downloading the necessary program to get things going, and getting your data backed up. Once you've set it up, which is quite easy to do as the site will teach you, it will be kept running in the background all the time. This means that as you add new documents to your computer, they will automatically be backed up online without you having to constantly fuss whether you've made the backups yet, or still need to. It will do it all for you.

These are just two really easy ways to back up your documents and photographs.

Reminder: Here are some of the ways you can lose your information:

1. Operating System crashes
2. Hard drive crashes
3. Virus or Trojan Horse
4. Computer is stolen
5. Computer physically breaks (a laptop drops on the ground!)
6. Something you simply never thought possible!

If you've got your hundreds of Gigabytes backed up on an external drive, you'll easily be able to transfer the files to your next computer or new working computer, by simply plugging it in and copying the files across.

Of course, if you did not keep your external drive at a friend's home and the like, and it gets stolen WITH your computer, then you'll lost your backups as well! Therefore consider the importance of keeping your data backed up online as well. Then, should anything happen to your physical computer, whether stolen or inflicted with a virus, you'll be able to log in – anywhere in the world – to your online backup and download your entire hard drive again. Terrific!

PASSWORDS

ONE word of warning!!! When you do subscribe to any online backup service (or any online service) use a VERY strong password. Passwords such as "password", your name, your best friend's name, favourite colour etc., should NOT be chosen EVER! A good password incorporates letters, numbers, and extra characters eg "$%!@#" etc. Choose a password of at least 6 characters, 8 is by far better, and 10 will make things pretty much impossible for the average hacker to get through. Choosing a password takes much wisdom. If you'd like some tips, look at what the professionals - Google themselves, have to say.

Inserting a Counter on your Blog or Web Site

Whether your blogging or setting up a web page for fun or for generating wealth, you're going to want to know how many people are coming to your site regularly. If it's for fun, you'll get to know just how many people are enjoying your postings, your pictures, your insights and more. If it's for business, you may want to sell ad space or the like on your page. Advertisers are going to want to know how many "hits" you're getting. How many people are looking at your site every day, every week and every month. The more visitors, the greater your chances of being able to sell advertising space – and being able to generate real wealth.

Think of it this way: If thousands of people are reading your posts, it means that they're all interested in your content. If they're interested in your content, they're going to spend time looking at all the things you have to offer them. While they're doing that, they're going to also be looking at the adverts placed by others. People will click on those adverts, see the advertisers sites, and be tempted to now make a purchase on their site. So everyone wins! People come to your site. So, how do we get to prove (honestly) how many people are actually visiting and let others know about it?

There are many great web pages out there with a variety of counters you can choose from. I'm going to suggest just one. It's easy to get, it's fun to choose a counter that you'll enjoy using, and it's easy to implement the code on either your blog or webpage.

So follow me:

1. Go to www.histats.com
2. Register all your details, including your email address
3. Select a counter that suits your needs (a one line, two line, 3 or 4)
4. Go to your control panel at any time to see your stats and be able to change the look of your counter
5. Click on the Account button (with the tool button on it)
6. Select Get Counter Code and copy it
7. Go back to your blog
8. Go to Customize / Page Elements
9. Click to Add a Gadget
10. Choose HTML
11. Paste your new text in the box
12. DONE!

You're all set to go. You've realized the importance of what a counter can do for you and how it can add in letting you and your visitors know just how impressive your postings are. You've found a great site that lets you choose and customize a counter with a variety of choices. You've pasted the HTML text into your blog as a new gadget.

When you next view your site, you'll see just how many people are coming throughout the next few days and onwards.

NOTE: You are more than welcome to set your counter at any number to fool people as to how many people have actually already come. That's up to you. I like to be honest. That way, I myself actually know quite accurately just how many people are coming and where I stand. I find it better for my own personal knowledge of how well I'm doing.

Blogging can really give one tremendous satisfaction. There's so much one can share with the world. I work using Blogger to set up my blogs and find it easy to work with. You'll get a variety of opinions as to which is the better blogging service to use, and many will be based upon the type of templates that come with that particular service.

When you blog, you have to decide what type of market you're blogging for. You might just one to share general information. If so, you may find that a two-column blog more than adequately covers your needs. You'll have one small column allowing you to set up a basic menu system. You might include previous posts, labels, and perhaps even an Adsense skyscraper or the like.

You might also want your blog to be fun. You must consider the purpose of your blog, because having a template – all pink with frilly flowers and the like surrounding your site won't do you any good if you're a "big man" wanting to share the latest technology news. Of course, if you're a young teenage girl, such a design will go down very well. You can also find templates with floating fairies surrounding the pages.

But what about those who are more serious? They want the formality of the general blog, BUT they want something more. When you join Blogger, you'll find a decent variety of two column templates available. But if you're like me, wanting to expand your bog out ever so slightly to include at least two main side bars and a middle section for the content, you'll want that third column – which you can't find anywhere on Blogger's choice of Templates.

Now, a warning is in order! You may start looking around at the various free template sites and notice 3-column templates which look terrific, and you'll want one of these. This is great, so long as you don't already have a blog running. Once your blog has been running for months and more – you must understand that everything – including all your fancy widgets (clocks, counters, lists and the like) have already been set up beautifully. You can certainly change your template at any time – using one of the free templates – but be warned, you may end up losing a lot of information you've already set up – most notably your linked-lists which may have taken you hours to set up! You simply don't want to lose those!

There are tutorials to help you through the process of restoring all the widgets – though this is not the subject of today's posting. The reason I'm not getting into it at this point, is because they can be quite time consuming and even then – if you should make one accidental mistake, you may find yourself having lost your hard work and having to re-set things up again. It won't be fun, and since blogging is about FUN – you don't want to find yourself in this snare.

So, having said that, let's turn our attention to the blog you're currently looking at. Actually, I love the Minima design. It's neat, simple and seems to do everything I want. It's got a business type look – professional and well-laid out. Only thing is – as mentioned before, you'll find that Blogger only gives you two columns.

When I began blogging I used to always use this design, but found myself in the situation of having now blogged for so long – unable to spend the necessary time and patience fiddling with things that have the potential of being lost. So I did some serious research into learning more about that 'fancy' HTML Template and CSS, so that I could understand how better to set things up myself *without* losing my old template and information.

I'd like to share with you just how easy it is to change various settings to turn your 2-column template into a 3-column template. As before, I'm going to be using the 2 column Minima Right-Side Template to work with. If you have the Left Side Minima (Minima-left) ie with the main body post on the right side of the thinner column, then simply change it to the right-side template (Minima) and follow me. You won't lose any of your gadgets and widgets by doing that – just that your blog will look the opposite way around.

Let's work through the necessary steps now:

1. Log in to your blog
2. Go to the "Layout"
3. Choose the "Edit HTML" tab
4. Expand the widgets by inserting a tick in the box
5. Do a search – Ctrl-F (Control Find) for #header-wrapper
6. You'll see something like this:

width:980px;
margin:0 auto 10px;
border:1px solid $bordercolor;
}

What this means is that your main heading element has a width of x pixels. In my case I have expanded my header width to be 980, though your number might still be something like 660 or the like. I have found 980 to expand things to be just right!

Also at the bottom of the header section, change the max-width to 980 as below:

Back to the tutorial:

7. Change the width to a width that suits you best. As I mentioned 980 works quite well.
8. Do a search for #Outer-Wrapper
9. You'll see something like this:

This tells you that the entire blog width from side to side is x pixels. Again, I have chosen 980 in order to make it equal to the header size. You can make it what you will, but start with this and then fiddle around afterwards

10. Your width may once again be something like 660. Change it to 980
11. Immediately after this block of code, insert the following:

width: 220px;

What this does is to now add a column of 220 pixels on the left hand side of the main blog post area. You can make it any size you want of course – but keep it this way to start so that you'll get to see your blog in balance.

NOTE: If you are working with the Minima template which already has the smaller column on the left, you'll find yourself in trouble as this code inserts the column on the left side. For this reason – as mentioned above – make sure you are using the Minima with the smaller column on the right side before making these changes.

12. You've come a long way now. You're blog has now been increased in width size and you've added the additional column!
13. Just below the left-sidebar-wrapper, you'll see another piece of code which looks like this:

overflow: hidden;     /* fix for long non-text content breaking IE sidebar float */

Again – pay attention to the width. In your case, your code may indicate something like 410. I have chosen to increase the amount to 500. What this does is to increase the size of my main blog post article area. You can keep it at 410, but then you'll have a large empty space on both sides. The point is to maximize screen space. So by increasing it to 500 pixels, you'll be getting the most for your "money".

14. Make sure your width is 500 instead of the usually set 410. If you wish to fiddle with this amount, by all means, find something you're comfortable with.
15. You're DONE for now!

What you've now done is to increase the size of the entire blog space area to allow for the new column. You've then inserted the new 3rd column, and you've increased the size of the blog post area. You've now got a 3 column blog without having lost anything!

16. If you wish to make things symmetrical, you may wish to increase the size of your footer area to be the same as the header area. This can easily be done by searching for #footer and finding the following piece of text appearing at the bottom:

You'll probably find that the width is set at the usual 660 pixels or similar. I have changed mine to be 880 pixels. 970, 980 or 990 does a great job too. Experiment!

17. Make sure your width is now set at 880px
18. In the same section of the footer scroll to find this:

When you view your blog for the first time it will still not look 100% correct. What you will now need to do is to rearrange all your page elements as you wish them ie. so that some of your widgets will appear on the left of the main blog post area, and some will appear on the right.

To rearrange:

1. Click on the Layout option
2. On the Page Elements page you will see how your blog will look after publishing. Here you must delete the newly created temporary widgets and move the remainder elements around so that your page will take on it's new appearance.

Tweet Me Me Me Me

You've probably set your blog up and done some really good posts. As you start blogging you may find that you'd really like to get your message out to the world faster than ever. Your blog post is worth at least a million dollars – but will you get it if nobody knows about it?!

Today, Twitter is taking the world by storm. Imagine the idea of having 20 000 followers (at least!) and sending a message to all of them about your terrific blog post? That's of course Step 1! Step 2 is to make sure that everyone else who is also connected with Twitter see to it that they too advertise your blog post to their 20 000 followers. That's called re-tweeting and we may talk about it's value in a later post.

Today, I'd like to share with you a quickie on how to encourage others to re-tweet your post from within the blog post itself. If you look at the top right side of every post I've done, you'll see a "Retweet" button. Give it a try on this very post. Simply click on it and when logged in to your Twitter account, hit the enter button. Voila – there you go, my post just got advertised to all your followers. Terrific. It's exactly what we want, and one of the fastest ways of getting others attracted to our post in seconds!

You're going to get hundreds and thousands of people looking at your blog posts. But without the "Retweet" button installed on your blog template, it's going to make matters difficult for the average user to want to let others know about your post. But WITH the "Reweet" button they'll feel far more relaxed with the idea of letting others know fast about the wonderful post they've just done. Go ahead and retweet this very post to all your friends. You'll soon see how fast others will catch on to it!

Now we need to help to set up YOUR blog with this terrific feature. It does take a bit of technical know-how, but you can do it! Just follow me:

1. Log in to your blog (For more info about blogs see Lesson 5)
2. Choose the Layout tab
3. Choose the Edit Html option
4. Click "Expand Widgets"
5. Do a search using the Ctrl-F option (Control Find) and look for:

Becoming a Success - With Video Clip

Becoming a millionaire, or simply becoming wealthy is all about using all our talents correctly. We have countless outlets available to making this happen for us. The Internet in today's times is just one of them. It's a substantial one at that. It is probably safe to say that those who do not use the Internet today to market and advertise themselves, are losing out on their biggest available asset of letting others out there know about themselves. More than this, they lose out on the immediate opportunity of bringing in income while sleeping (literally) – by simply already having a web page or blog with things to sell on it – or even Adsense adverts that people will click on – while they sleep – bringing them extra income by the time they've woken up. Great – isn't it?!

We all have talents though – and it's those that must ultimately be exploited in order to meet with success. But – so many of us continue ask – "when will it happen to me?!" When will all that glorious wealth moving about in the world, come to me?! When will others get to know the real me, the person I'd like to introduce to the world?! When will I be able to become the person I really am? Abraham Maslow provided us already with a hierarchy of needs with self-actualisation being set right up at the very top. How many of us actually reach it?! Yet we continue, and the biggest lesson in life that we must take with us is indeed to continue onwards, no matter how many times we fail. Failure – if we can call it that, is merely a stepping stone to success. Those who think they are failing must realise that they have chosen for themselves the path of failure. Those people – on the other hand, who recognise the greatness in themselves, who see themselves as continually growing – even with the falls in life – are destined for success. Success of course comes about in many ways, and does not only have to be money-based, though of course being blessed with wealth does make one think one has achieved much!

For today's post, an inspirational video for all to watch. To make us realise that there have been many other "ordinary people" who've gone through the same things we go through daily. Yet with all this, they have stood firm, and moved forwards too – in order to make themselves into the success they became. As for you – you're no different. You too can become that success. There is no such thing as despair, no such thing as failure, just the continual life-journey of growth and success. This blog has already provided a number of tools to work with. We might be taking a slight variation in our financial growth ideas from here, having already explored many areas of the Internet. We'll continue with the Internet and the web as a basis for generating wealth, but will also work on other areas of growth that we all need to work through in order to see how we can attract money towards ourselves through other means. It's really all about using the tools we have available to us – as well as becoming positive in ourselves through motivating ourselves correctly, so that indeed – all that glorious wealth making it's rounds, can find it's way into our own lives too.

So, you've finally got something on the web that you believe to be the next best thing! It could be an article you recently wrote and published on one of the web's article database sites, or it could be a posting you made on your blog. It may even be one of your latest web pages linked to your main web page. It could even be a page of your photography – or a page of your online shop where users can see more about what you have to sell – and of course buy from you directly!

Did you know that there must be some 15 BILLION web pages available at the moment? Just imagine this now. Let's say there are 6 billion people in the world… and each of them is looking for something in particular. Well let's do some wild guessing now. Imagine that you've just developed the latest widget gadget! This gadget is the world's greatest bread preserver. In addition to being able to preserve bread for months on end without the slightest trace of mould or becoming dry and hard – this unique machine doubles up as a refrigerator – because it needs to be cool to keep the bread fresh. It also doubles up as an oven – so that you can just turn up the heat quickly when you need to warm the bread (always tastes better this way!) It has some other unique abilities, such as being able to fold open so that you can place a number of loaves of bread (of various kinds) inside it. In fact, it has a special shelf that also allows for the actual baking of bread to take place. It's really a superb device. As I said – the latest widget gadget available. This device could make you millions and you could find yourself on the next "World's top 100 Billion" list. Fantastic!

Anyway back to reality. So you've got the goods sitting in your home all ready for production. You've got the webpage designed artistically so that any deficiencies in the product will be more than made up by the splendid graphics you've chosen to make your page a big winner. And you've uploaded a beautiful picture of your widgetmagoo. Now there you have it – your page is out there with Paypal button on and all. It's sitting… and sitting…. You can't seem to work out why nobody knows about your product though. It's there – isn't it?! It's on the big I(nternet!)

Hmmm… let's get the picture clearer now. So, you've got a bread maker haven't you?! And yours is the best – isn't it? What with the built it oven, fridge, and radio/cell phone too. And there are really only 15 BILLION pages of Internet out there. What with 6 billion people – I'm sure that at least every third person should get to your page…. Eventually!

Of course the truth is, if you've done a recent search on Google for "bread maker" (for lack of a better word to describe our widgetmagoo) you'll get over 1 million results. Now, your superb page is sitting there somewhere of course. But maybe... just maybe it's number…. 1 million! Considering that the average person would have to click on the "next page" button some 100 000 times (10 pages are shown on every page) – I guess it would take the average person a few years before he gets to your page, and by that time, he'd be too exhausted to think of new widgetmagoos.

Of course if someone did a search for "widgetmagoo" they'd probably see your listing in the number 1 position. But I just don't know how many people know about widgetmagoos. So, it's going to be kind of difficult to make sure people get to know about your product – whether it's called a "widgetmagoo", a "widegetmagee", or even just a plan old fashioned "bread maker" or "bread freshener."

But we've got the goods, and we know that once people see them, they're going to buy these little gold nuggets in no time at all – just as soon as they see them!!!

Welcome SOCIAL BOOKMARKING!

Social bookmarking is a way to get others to know about your famous page in a zillionth of the time it would take for them to know about it – without the bookmarking! In fact, you have two advantages with social bookmarking. One is that by doing this, anybody else who uses these bookmarking tools will have faster access to your page – if they're serious about finding the latest greatest things on the Internet. And second of all, when one social bookmarks, one's own page automatically gets a higher list ranking with Google. Google tends to think that if someone out there (no matter who it is – whether the author himself or another person) – bookmarked a page – it really must have some value. In fact, you might find your page suddenly jumping to position 20 from position 1 million in just a couple of days! And if it's really something special, and people do start clicking on it… well, you may get good ol' position number ONE! And that's really what the web is all about. You want everyone doing a search for "bread maker" or "bread freshener" or the like, to end up seeing your page at the number one post so that they'll all click on it and buy YOUR product! Whoopee!

So, now for the practical. How do you bookmark your site, your photographs – whatever?!:

Take a trip to www.socialmarker.com – because this is the site that will make things easy for you – to get your site listed in some 160 places in 5 minutes flat!

Just one word of warning before we begin. Do be careful not to get too carried away with only your pages – and doing all 160 bookmarks every single time. Google has it's ways of seeing what you're up to… So if you start abusing the system which is made to actually help people and not to simply spam everyone with your goodies – you may find yourself in trouble. This won't do much good to the terrific widgetmagoo you have recently invented, so do things cautiously.

Let's go now:

You'll actually see a button on the page under the "how to use it (help)" section. If you drag this button to your main browser toolbar, you will automatically set everything up for future use. It will make life easier from now on, because you will now have a button on your toolbar that will allow you to bookmark any page by simply clicking on that button – instead of having to log in every single time to the main site. So do add it.

Once you've added it, you're ready to begin!

1. Go to the site you'd like to bookmark so that others will know what you're up to.
2. Click on the social bookmark button on your browser (the one you just set up)
3. Fill in the information about the site that does not already appear in the boxes.
4. You'll need a title for your post (such as Widgetmagoo Miracle.)
5. You'll need the link (it should be filled in, because you're already on the page.)
6. You'll need some text – something like – "This tool will keep your bread fresh for years on end! A must for anyone who ever eats bread!)
7. Then some tags (bread,maker,fresh,widgetmagoo,oven,fridge,bake,cellphone)
8. Check (place a tick) in the social bookmark engines that you want to list your page on. Choose them all, or just a few. Some work better. I'd recommend Propellor, Digg, Twitter, Reddit, MrJeeves.ask.com. Though you can really choose whichever you want. There is no reason not to use the others at all. Experiment and have fun.
9. DONE!

Now what you'll need to do is to actually make your submissions to each of these sites. Most of the information will appear on the bottom of your page so that you can simply drag and drop your info into the required blocks without having to re-type the pieces of text you entered about the site on the front page. Each page will tell you as you go along how they work.

You'll have to register with each of them (which is a bit time consuming for 160 sites!) But once you're registered, you'll simply log in, submit the info, and everything is done!

Once you've done this, you'll be listed on these utilities. They work in incredible ways, and before long, you will actually see people coming to your site from having found you on one of these bookmarks. It is actually quite remarkable how it all works. I am surprised every day when I see how many people find their way to my sites from these bookmarks.

I'd suggest getting stuck into them immediately, as you only stand to gain as hundreds and thousands of new people get to find out more about you faster than ever!

Set a goal (How much do you need to raise?).
Create a timeline (How much time do you have to raise it?).

Who Should You Raise Funds From?

Who will you ask for the money (What is your target audience?) Whether you are raising money for your school or a political candidate, this is critical. Look first for a list of previous donors to this or similar causes. Most political campaigns donors are now posted on the web and are searchable by zipcode. If this is unavailable create a list from Christmas-card lists; school,club or church directories; or lists of co-workers or neighbors.

How will you ask for the money?

The likeliest method is an event. This sets a date certain and helps keep the fundraising on-track.
Take advantage of any special talents you might have. Maybe you sew and crochet--make some items to sell. You can sell them online, at a craft show, or set up shop in your own front yard, and have a garage sale to go with it, to earn extra.
Log onto the internet, type in "fundraising items", or you can type in "wholesale candles", or "wholesale picture frames",depending on what it is that you want to sell. By going through wholesale, you can get a lot more products, than you would going to a retail store, and for more than half the price.
Make a sign or print up some fliers, letting your customers know what their money is going towards.
Have a change jar set up on your pay table, and people can drop their loose change into it, at the end of the day, go to your supermarket, or one that has a change-counting machine. Drop all the change into the machine, then it will print up a receipt for you, to take over to a cashier. Then the cashier will hand you the amount in bills, and you won't have to send change, or spend change, to fund your fund-raiser.

If you’ve been keeping up with our lessons systematically, you’ll have a great idea of how many tools are available on the Internet to help one accumulate significant wealth.

One way of expressing oneself is through a blog, where one updates one’s thoughts and ideas on a daily basis (or to the degree one is able to.) Another way of setting an opening on the Internet – a portal – where people have the opportunity to see what you do, is by setting up your very own web page.

Obviously we’ve all seen webpages – some beautiful, some with no thought put into them at all, and of course we know to which we’ll return in the future! Is making a web page a difficult thing to do, or can anyone with an average brain make one up? What types of programs does one need to make a web page? Will it be expensive?!

Actually, in today’s times anyone can create their own *attractive* web page in just minutes – with no more software than already built-in programming on the Internet itself! That’s right, it’s this simple! What are we going to do to create our page? We’ll log in to a site that is loaded with dozens of free templates. We’ll then choose a template, and begin making our page with about as much ease as dragging the relevant boxes we need to use to wherever we want them to be! It’s really quite simple!

Within minutes, you can have your own page up and running. Let your thoughts go wild! What would you like to share with others? Let them be able to interact with you, learn a little about yourself, or see samples of some work you do. You can even upload pictures and videos for others to see, as well as uploading your own files for others to download to their computers to view on their side.

Yup! That’s all that there is to it. You’ve now set up your own web page. Now comes the fun part. You’re going to choose a template for yourself from what’s available. They are really all attractive, and you’re sure to find something worthwhile to use. Then you’ll see some tabs on the top left side of the screen. When you click on these, you’ll see various images appear on the right next to these tabs. These images allow you to enter text on your page, to insert a picture, a file, a video etc. You can choose a layout of one column, or two (or even three if you’re really smart!)

Snap, Snap – just like that – and you’ve got a simple page going. You can also add pages and set up tabs on your page so that users can navigate easily through your page. One page might have information about yourself. Another might have a contact form for users to contact you. Another may have contact details for users to find out more about the different modes to be in touch with you (eg. Facebook, Twitter, your landline, your cellphone, your blog address, your dog’s blog address (in case yours is offline for some reason), your LinkedIn details, even your email address! And of course anywhere else where you want people to contact you – just let them know. It will be hard to stay away from the public’s eye once you’re done!

Once you’ve done your pages, you’ll click on the Publish button and Weebly will make sure you’re all set up for millions of people to see. Get to choose your very own name for your site as well. Make it descriptive and easy – so that others will be able to find you quickly!

Having computer skills is one thing. Sometimes one finds oneself so taken in with a computer keyboard and screen that one can forget that there are real people behind these screens. That’s right! When communicating via Twitter and Facebook – and all the other wonderful tools on the Internet – one must keep in mind that the responses that come back to one are not coming from a robotic computer millions of miles away. And while we may all think back to the days of television programs such as “Knight Rider” with talking cars (and watches!) and the like, in the *real* world, our communication is happening with real people.

Who better to interact with than real people?! Who better to help than people just like ourselves? In fact that is exactly what the world is all about. It’s about interaction. It’s about being in touch with others, and helping them to achieve their goals in life. And of course, we continually hope – it’s about being in touch with others so that we can achieve our own goals too.

Imagine this scenario for a moment: David is talking to John. John has some 250 odd friends and family members that he knows. Some of them he speaks to regularly and others less frequently. Today, this figure might be far greater. With tools like Twitter, we could be setting up a network base of thousands of people who we can get to know personally. But on the whole John knows some 250 people.

When David tries to help John, John remembers the good deed he does for him and thinks well of him. So one day, when he’s talking to one of his 250 friends and family members, he tells them about David, “Jane… do you remember David the plumber?” he asks. She doesn’t recollect. “Actually he helped me with something the other day, he’s a terrific guy. You know, I’d highly recommend him!” WOW! The deals done!

David’s just been won over to Jane. But that’s not all, because Jane ALSO has 250 friends and contacts. So, of course, when the right moment comes, she’s going to let all her 250 contacts know all about David too!

Bob Burg is the Network king! He understands what it means to create good relationships with others, because he values every one of them and what they can offer to others. Bob believes that everyone has around 250 friends in their network of contacts. That basically translates to the fact, that when we get to know somebody else, we potentially get to know all their 250 friends as well. Now, one plumbing job may be good, but 250 jobs… that’s terrific!

Bob’s not just a great writer – or speaker. He’s the real thing in person too! His friendliness spills over in just about every conversation you’ll have with him. By now, you should have a really good knowledge of tools that you’re using to generate income. They’re all free – and so you’re losing out on nothing more than some of your time to make a success of the skills you already have.

We learned earlier about using Facebook to network with family, friends and everyone around the world. It’s a great way to keep in touch and see what others are up to – and to share with them via photographs, short updates and posting on one’s own wall or others’.

Imagine if we could take the Facebook idea a little further. Making it a little more interactive? Let’s put it this way: Imagine being able to communicate with thousands of people in one second all around the world?! Imagine being able to tell them what you’re doing – whether you’ve just woken up, going to sleep (or already gone to sleep as many people will indicate), about to do the shopping, or have put up a great new post on your brand new blog (which of course has wonderful things for sale on it?!)

Twitter is the ultimate tool for getting your message out there to thousands of people in one second. Here’s how it works:

You’ll sign up for an account:

Click on “Get Started”
Enter your full name, a username, password (make sure it’s a good one) and email

Okay, from now on you’re going to log in to twitter when you go to www.twitter.com

You’ll have to get some friends. Twitter will help you find some on Facebook if you like, or you might already know even one other person who’s already registered.

If so, you’re really already on your way to meeting the entire world! Once you’ve got one friend, you’ll be able to take a look at all of his/her friends, and add them to your list to. That means you’ll be able to follow them. Hopefully, being a good twitterbug himself, he’ll reciprocate and follow you too. In this way, you can generate thousands of followers. By the way, if you don’t know anyone, you’re welcome to start with me. Just look out for RebEliyahu, add me, and look at all my friends. Start working your way through my list and build up your own.

Now, you’re ready to get tweeting. It’s really simple. All you need to do is enter a sentence or two – no more than 140 characters (much like you’d SMS someone from your cellphone) and hit enter. BOOM! Your message has gone to everyone in your list – just like that!

Don’t just use Twitter to tell others about your business, although it’s great for this. Interact with others and talk to them about your life and theirs – and whatever else is on your mind! You’ll be surprised how many wonderful people are out there who are also interested in answering questions you might have – about anything in life! Who knows how much help you might end up getting about everything – at no absolutely no cost!

Feeling lonely?! Twitter is also an excellent way to meet so many new people all around the globe. You may end up making thousands of friends and become the next Mr. or Mrs. Popular!

If you need to send a message to just one person, just type in their name preceded by the “@” symbol. Send the message, and only that person will get that message.

It’s really a lot of fun and it’s so easy to use. Imagine now that you have a website or a blog with items you’re selling, services you’re offering and articles you’d like others to read. Once you’re on Twitter, you need only share a link with everyone on your list, and they’ll all be able to see what you’re up to.

Of course, as always, the more traffic you get to your site, the greater your chances are of making more sales – which means more for you. So give something to others, and see the magic effects of them giving something back to you.

Our site is devoted to gaining the necessary tools to being successful financially. We’ve learned about a variety of tools that we can implement to use our skills to actively make money.

Another important part of being successful financially is to realise that we are actually deserving of this wealth. There is much to be said about getting one’s mind to think in the right direction to perceive wealth as a blessing – and that it should be used for blessed purposes. There is nothing wrong with having wealth, especially because we know what wonderful things we can do with it.

Many times, we feel or have been taught, that having wealth is something negative or the like. It’s only for “those people”. In truth, however, wealth is for everyone. When each of us is blessed with our own wealth, we are able to give much more to others and also express ourselves much better. In fact, without wealth, we cannot become close to what our true potential really is.

So, how do we go about thinking straight and seeing the value of having wealth? How do we get ourselves out of the mentality of thinking that we don’t actually need wealth to live?!

One such person who wrote on the subject in a most wonderful manner is Napoleon Hill. I’d like to suggest you get a hold of his wonderful book “Think and Grow Rich” which you can do directly here on that link. In future lessons, we will be looking at some other books. MAKES CENTS – ADDS DOLLARS!

Okay, you want to live the American dream (or anyone else’s… so long as it brings in some wealth!) There’s a famous saying – TANSTAAFL – or for those who don’t know the basics of abbreviations “There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch!” What’s really amazing about those who talk this way is that they’re simply not that interested in sharing anything for nothing. Actually, there is a strange concept in the universe – the more one gives, the more one gets back. And nobody ever mentions money as being the only option here.

The creators of Google are millionaires (and more!) But how do they make their money? If only WE could know something about their thinking, maybe we too could make it big! For those – not in the know, you’ll probably know Google as a search engine. Things are just simple with Google. You want to find something on the Internet, so you type in www.google.com and do a search. You can type anything you want (and you’ll probably get it!) You can find web entries, category entries, images, videos – anything! Then you finish up with Google by choosing your website from them and off you go venturing into the wide open spaces of cyberspace!

How could Google make so much money from this – you probably ask! When was the last time you paid Google for doing a search? Did they ever send you an invoice for the millions of searches you’ve done already?! So how are they making all their money?!

Google must understand the real dynamics of what sharing is all about, and how to go about doing it right, so that those parting with their money will want to – because it’s beneficial for them to, and those who want to help those part with their money – also want to make it as easy and comfortable as possible. They’re geniuses!

In 2000, Google set up the most amazing program to benefit anyone interested in making money through the Internet. ANYONE can use it and ANYONE can literally make fortunes of wealth from it. The better you understand it, the faster you’ll be able to bring in a steady income for doing…. nothing! Okay, not nothing entirely, but let’s fantasize for a moment:

Imagine adding to your blog or website on a regular basis. You love writing about… whatever it is you love writing about! Every day you teach people all sorts of new things. You get to express yourself, others get to enjoy your writing, and you’re making millions from it – without anyone actually paying you… anyone except for Google that is!

Here’s how they work. They have a program known as Adsense. They have the flipside of this which is called Adwords – which we’ll learn more about in a later lesson. Adsense makes sense. Adsense makes cents. Adsense adds cents (and sense!) In fact, it even adds dollars!

Advertising for others and helping them is your surest way of bringing in an income for yourself. Think of it like this. If you are able to help another make a sale – he’ll be happy. He’ll then pay you for your help. You didn’t even need a product! You simply told someone about someone else’s product; they bought it, and Mr. Seller signs a check to give you some commission for all the great work done!

You’ve probably seen Adsense on every single webpage or blog page you’ve visited, but have you paid attention to how it actually works?

It’s simple. Lets call Mr Advertiser – “John”! Now, John wants to sell his latest electric car that he’s recently made up. Well, he feels that he needs to show everyone the benefits of it and doing so in the space of a few textual lines won’t help much (he’s probably right!) So he sets up a webpage devoted to show how his electric car works. He’s got pictures on his site, videos, musical videos (to get you all excited!) lots of information, prices and of course big “BUY ME” buttons all over the page. Once you’ll click there and enter your credit card info, John will check his Paypal (see first lesson) with a HUGE amount in it, and get so excited that he’ll now send the car express mail to your home!

Okay, but John’s page isn’t so well known. Actually he’d like the entire world to know about it! Everyone knows Google, so if he can just buddy buddy up with Google, he’ll get the whole world informed about his website and his car! So what he does first is to set up some really good adverts (which he designs in Adwords). He calls his ad “Electric Car” and then writes underneath this “Car that runs on electricity.” On the second line he says “Woohooo!!! Buy it here!” Then there’s a link that takes one directly to his site – or alternatively you can just click on the advert and be “transported” (without gas or electricity, save for that being used by your laptop) to his page. There you’ll pick up an electric car for the special of just 2 million dollars – terrific!

Imagine that all this takes place by John having to pay only some 40 American cents (or less?) Actually it does! This is Adsense.

Your job is to put his advert on your webpage or blog. Don’t worry, Google does all the hard work and you just put in the given code.

The short of it is like this: You’re going to register with Adsense. After that, you’ll be able to put some code onto your web page or blog page. Google will automatically choose the adverts that go onto your page for you. They’ll be related to the content on your page. So if you’re talking about dancing… you’ll probably get adverts dealing with dancing teachers, dancing moves, dancing videos – everything dancing. And so on.

Here’s the great part now. People who are reading your page (which is about dancing of course!) will be interested in… DANCING! So they’ll be checking out the rest of your page for anything they can see about dancing. They’ll see a few of the terrific adverts you’ve worked so hard to put up. One will direct them to a page to learn about dancing, another to find dancing teachers etc. as above. Then comes the good news. They’re going to click on it to be taken to that page – and here’s where Google Adsense kicks in!

You’re going to receive some extra bonus spending pocket money for all your hard work. Once a person clicks on that small advert, you’ll be paid anywhere from 20 American cents to perhaps even 40 or 50 cents. (This is all dependent upon complex programming by Google, and can only be understood through a lot more learning than a short post like this!) Now… everyone gets happy. You see, Mrs Dancing Teacher really wants you to see her page, so she has already registered with Google and paid them for this advert. In fact, she may have paid them a dollar for each time the advert is clicked upon. What’s a dollar, if she can get you to order her latest $500 fancy dance moves video?! Google are happy because they got the $1 already from the dance teacher, and because you’ve helped, Google wants you to share in the profit, so they give you some 30 cents or the like. There you go, everyone is happy and everyone wins!

In summary, that’s how many sites – including this one, are able to continue without any payment at all. It’s called advertising, and the sponsors are to be thanked for all their help. They feel that my page (and the others they advertise on) is really helping them generate business. And of course, I’m grateful for their terrific work that they do too. So I put up their advert and hope and pray that others will want to learn more about their things – which they often do want! Once they do, we all win, and through these advertisers supporting me, I’m able to publish even more of the things I enjoy writing about. Of course, I’m not the only one doing this… practically every web page does it. And we all do it to help each other. Naturally, clicking on the adverts for no purpose is theft, as is doing so just for the sake of helping your buddy bring in a few extra bob. By the way, don’t think you can click on your adverts on the page. Once Google sees you’re doing this (just call them BIG BROTHER), they’ll simply cancel your account. You’ve got to be fair and honest (not only with Google, but with everyone else in the world as well!)

The main thing to be aware of is that you put your adverts up without expecting anything in return. You just go ahead and continue publishing on your fantastic web blog or web site.

If your content on your web site or blog is good – and it will keep people coming back for more, then of course, more people will be looking at the page regularly, and that means that more people will be viewing the adverts too. So the best way of increasing the hits through the Adsense adverts is to bring good content to your blog to encourage people to come back for more!

It’s a great deal and everybody wins. You can too!!! There’s much more to learn, and you’re welcome to be in touch for further info. This is really just an introduction. We’ll also be covering other advertising means in future lessons. Google Adsense is just one of them. We’ll be learning about selling others’ books on your site, or others’ shoes… or whatever. You’ll need to have set up your blog or website first…
Enter your web or blog address and fill in the remainder of the details. Make sure you enter the “payee name” exactly. You’ll be getting a check and you don’t want problems with the bank. Actually you can also set up your bank account directly with them and they will deposit the money directly into it!
Submit your information
DONE!

Once you’re registered you’ll be taken to an interface which will allow you to start designing your Adsense ads (see some ideas by looking at the one’s on this page and others.)

Imagine the tremendous wealth each of us could have… if we could manage to get just $1 from each person in the world! It’s not such a fantasy, because in fact, life is all about networking. The more people we can be in regular contact with, the more people will know about our services and what we have to offer. And of course, they’ll get to know the real “us”. The Internet is filled with an array of programs that allow for instant communication between ourselves and the rest of the world. One of the most common used communication tools is Facebook.

What exactly is Facebook? Facebook is a utility on the Internet that allows us to be in touch with whoever will be our friends! Of course, if you’ve lost contact with friends you may have had when at school decades ago – you may quite likely find them again using this program – as I personally have done. It is truly amazing to be in touch with an old friend decades later. One wonders what types of lives they lived up until now, and suddenly in moments, one is back in touch with them – albeit a newer them!

Making money is really all about having good contacts who’ll hire our services (or purchase our products) and be excellent referrers for us to their own friends. Once they all start jumping onto this bandwagon, we’re able to increase our friend – and client database so that we all stand to gain from each other. We’ll be learning more about the “You give to me… I give to you… and we all give to each other” syndrome when we deal with Google’s Adsense and Adwords program.

The short of it is that while the world believes itself to (constantly) be in a recession, still – if everybody continues to give to everybody else, then it means that they in turn can give to others, and – simply put – nobody actually loses out but instead gains.

The best way to get to know about Facebook is to actually use it. I’m going to share with you the easy steps necessary to join it and thereafter share with you in brief what you’ll be able to do and how to use it for your benefit. You’ll get the hang of it all and find it a terrific tool to networking with others – old friends and new. I’d really appreciate hearing from you and adding you as a friend on my network too.

Let’s join Facebook and get to know the world:

Go to www.facebook.com
Sign up. It’s FREE!
Enter your full name, your email, a strong password and date of birth. If you believe you’re either male or female, then do select one of these choices as well!
DONE!

You’re really all set up. So go back to www.facebook.com and log in by simply entering your email address and password in the relevant boxes.

When you log in, you’ll be presented with your main dashboard. You’ll be able to upload a picture of yourself for your friends to see, and you’ll be able to tell others more about you under the main “Profile” tab. It’s really self explanatory.

Once you’re set up, you can use Facebook to tell others a little about what you’re up to by simply entering details in the main box. You can say for example: “Jane is now finished setting up her Facebook and ready to take on the world!”, or anything similar or completely different.

Next, you’ll want to actually add friends! It will be a very lonely experience if you join Facebook to tell the world all about you, when in fact, you haven’t added any friends yet! There’s a box in the top right hand side which says “search”. Here you can type in the name of someone you might know and try to find them. If their name comes up, you can add them as a friend. They’ll have to give permission though before you’ll see anything about them. This is one of the protective measures that Facebook takes. It will not allow anyone to see another’s profile and details until the person gives another permission to see them.

You can also add people by looking through your email addresses and working through them manually or automatically by Facebook itself.

Facebook is also filled with a variety of groups (or start your own!) So join in to something which appeals to you and you may find other like-minded people interested in becoming friends with you too.

The great thing about Facebook is that you can let others know what you’re doing so that they get to know you better. Use it to your advantage and you’ll find people interested in the services and products you have to offer. Be careful about direct advertising as I have heard that Facebook does not allow this. However one can still share in a subtle way what one is doing in the hope that others will want to find out more and be in touch with you. You can also add all your blog pages and web pages to the main “Profile” section, so that others can find out more about you. You’ll be using these as your main advertising pages.

Facebook will keep you updated with all your friends’ details during the day and in turn your friends will see what you’re up to. You can share pictures and videos with others, and see theirs too. The interface is clean and tidy and easy to follow, so spend some time looking at the variety of options available and like with most software related things – experiment and have fun!

Up until now we’ve learned about setting up the best vessel for accepting funds on the Internet – Paypal. We’ve learned how to sell our very own selves and the expertise we have, to others in need of immediate online help! We’ve learned how easy (etsy) it is to sell one’s own handmade things. And we’ve got ourselves an email address with a program that’s neat, tidy and easy to use – so people can be in contact with us and we with them.

What else can we do? All of us would like some sort of a way of getting ourselves known better. If we consider that we are indeed experts in something, whether through intellectual knowledge or through handy-work, we’d love to let others actually know more about who we are and what we can offer them. You can only do so-much with a picture being sold or consulting with someone online. But we really want others to get to know the “whole” us!

People are voyeurs. They love looking. The eye loves to scan what’s happening around it at all times, and so, if one has something visually appealing to another, one can get them quite addicted to what one has to offer them. That’s why writing on the Internet and using visual images is so attractive.

Television soap operas and the like are such huge successes because they keep people glued to their televisions every single day – at the same time, with the same storyline. So, if you’re interested in knowing what’s happening in Kate’s life, and her romance with Mark, or you’re interested to know if Harry and Lilly are going to stay married, get divorced or run away from each other… the latest soap operas will get the story started (all fictitious of course!) – and keep you wanting more! And even if it turns out that the strife of Angie and Damon will do nothing for keeping them apart for a moment, everyone will still tune in – same time tomorrow to know if anything *will* in fact change! In fact, it’s quite amazing to see how the soap operas never end. They keep going on and on. One can tune in months later after not having watched, and still be able to follow the main story line! You won’t miss much – even if you lose out on months of watching!

Yet, be that as it may, the soap opera writers are so good, that they’re able to keep you coming back – EVERY SINGLE DAY. To such a degree that in some families there may be tremendous problems with dad and mom if they have to be doing something else, and miss out on their latest updates – of people who are completely fictitious of course! Imagine if they were real?!

Well, the Internet has allowed people to set up their own web cameras for others to watch them live every day too. Imagine the excitement of being able to watch another person… brushing their teeth… doing their hair… walking around the house… talking to their friends in the lounge… anything?! What’s more, there are thousands of people doing just this, and getting paid fortunes. It’s really quite simple. All you do is set up a video camera in your main living room, turn it on, upload live feed to the Internet, and then… set up your web site with a password. Anyone wanting to see how you sit on your luxurious easy-chair during the day, can log in with their user details, pay $10 a month (or whatever you charge) and enjoy! Of course, when you’ve got thousands of likeminded people interested in how you drink your tea, and they’re all willing to pay $10 a month for this, you can become a millionaire – literally while you sleep! In fact, people do do this!

But what about the rest of us who really do have something worthwhile to share with others? We’ve got the good things going on. We have knowledge to share, kindness and goodness. Things that make sense!

There are millions of Internet viewers who’d love to know something about you. That’s because they’re either after knowledge – or because they simply like to know more about what’s happening in your life. Of course we all have a life (although most people keep telling us to get one!) And our lives are different from everyone else. Every day, we have things happening to us that nobody else has. It’s true – we could video it all and put it up for others to see (something for another lesson!) – but a great way of getting others to take an interest in ourselves, is to let them know what we’re up to.

Blogging. Just what exactly is it?! You could think of it as your own personal book or diary, where you can write up short (or long) notes about what’s happening in your life. Example: You just immigrated somewhere new. Each day after your arrival you can let others know what you’re doing.

“Day 1: Arrived. What a hassle to have to get through customs today! Do you know, I had some really personal things packed away. Now… do I look like a terrorist? But still, they took it all out. These guys must really have fun on some days! Arrived at my new home safely, with all my baggage back where it should have been in the first place!”

“Day 2: It was a long night last night. Completely exhausted, I just fell on to the new bed waiting for me, and had the best sleep in days and nights! Unpacked everything afterwards, and am grateful that all my clothes are hanging up in the closets where they should be! Can’t wait till the main boxes arrive with all my main appliances… I want a toasted cheese already!”

This would just be a sample. Of course, everyone really wants to know how you’re taking to Timbuktu and what the culture is like there, so share, share and share. Blah Blah Blah! If you really want people’s attention, you’re going to have to share every day. The more frequently you share, the better, because you’ll be getting everyone to your site daily – just what you want!

If you don’t like revealing personal details, you can set up a blog (literally WEblog – not ‘we blog’ even though we do!) – to teach others about something you’re good at. This blog “How to use the Internet to make Millions!” is an excellent idea for sharing with others what I know about using the Internet to make MILLIONS! But you may love animals and teaching others how to take care of theirs. Each day you’ll write your own “column” on how to train your pets. How to care for them. How to feed them. Whatever! There are hundreds of thousands of people – literally – interested in what you’ve got to say – so long as you can say it all right!

You’re probably wondering how having a blog can make millions – right?! Well, think of it this way: You’re making yourself an “indispensable” tool for them to learn about something they’ve always wanted! Now you’ve got their attention, you can start hiring yourself out on a more professional basis. Who knows… maybe someone will see your writing, think you’re the next J.K. Rowling, and ask you to write the next best-selling novel!

There’s much more to blogging though, and we’ll come back to it all again later. We’ll be teaching you more on how to advertise other people’s things on your blog as well and GET PAID for it! You’re a success – they want to be… so they pay you… simple! (That’s how it always works. When you’ve got wealth, everyone else wants to give you more!)

We’ve set up Paypal, which means people can pay us. But they still need to be in touch with us. And Paypal is still going to be sending you a confirmation that money has been deposited into your account – so it has to have somewhere to send it to!

In the old days, everyone knew of the mail (some still use it even today!) It was quite a simple process whereby you wrote a letter, put it in an envelope and mailed it – hence the term MAIL! But things changed, and suddenly everyone jumped onto the bandwagon of mail, and slowly but surely came just snail mail… then there was air-mail, there was… the ordinary male and fe-male (I think they preceded mail though!), as well as e-mail (without the ‘f’), then began Hotmail (others tried hotmale, but it’s not the same!) and yahoomail, and then gee… there came Gmail!

Of course when it comes to obtaining our email we can do so today through a variety of programs – many of which are totally free. Others have fancy smiley icons and the like and one has to pay for these unique programs. Everybody can choose what they prefer. To each his own.

For the purposes of these lessons we’re going to work with Gmail.

Having personally worked with Gmail, I have found it quite suitable for the work I do. It gives over 7 Gigabytes of storage space. I can’t really put that into the amount of images, videos and documents you can put into it, but if you’re still getting into using all these fancy things, rest assured, 7 Gigabytes will keep you busy for a very long time! The great thing is that your email is stored on a secure computer somewhere in cyberspace. This means that you can safely turn your computer off at any time, and return to your email any time you want. If you’re on holiday somewhere without your computer (something quite unusual by today’s standards) – you can check in to an Internet café somewhere and retrieve your email from there.

All your clients will think you’re still at work, sweating it out as you earn your living, but you know better, and are actually just off the beach-front in your swimming costume enjoying the warm sun in Hawaii! Gmail will take all your emails and keep them stored for as long as you need them to be and what’s really great, is that with just a few steps, you can find practically any email you want to… in seconds – even if you received it years ago!

You’re going to need a good email program to work with when it comes to sending and receiving email, and you don’t want to have to find yourself in the unfortunate situation of your computer giving you a message of something like “Compacting Your Email Folders” to find after it’s finished that it deleted all your messages! Gmail won’t do this. It’s easy to use. The interface is attractive and now it’s even got a variety of fun themes so that you can customize to fit your needs exactly! Plenty of storage space makes working with it a pleasure, and never having to worry about compacting folders and the like really helps!

Whenever you register for any of the programs we’ve been speaking about and will be speaking about in future lessons, you’re going to have to give your email address. Choose yours now so that you’ll be able to work with just one email on everything – instead of having to find yourself with email addresses on every email program you ever use! Another advantage of Gmail is that you can set up two or three easy to remember emails which you can use for different programs in particular – if you so wish. But still, keep everything under one roof!

Gmail also supports a number of languages. It also places all messages related to one email filed into one “long email!” The great thing about this is that all communication relating to one particular thread of discussion is always in front of you when you need it. Older email programs list messages separately, which means you have to hunt down older messages that were related to the same topic!

One thing I really like about Gmail is that it belongs to Google. What I mean by that is that Google have a variety of applications one can make use of. I enjoy being able to have a standard and like to know that everything works fine with everything else. Compatibility is always an issue on computers today and it seems like everyone is out to making you have to fit in with their style – or else forfeit using their things. The market is quite pushy with this all.

Google on the other hand are quiet about everything they do. You wake up one morning, look on the Internet, and suddenly find they’ve done something new. When one is connected with them – then all their programs simply work effortlessly. So, personally, I like keeping a standard with everything. Google is simple to use with clean, neat interfaces, and I know I’m able to keep everything together using their applications. And there’s never a charge. We’ll see why in a later lesson. Their set up of advertising is simply so brilliant, that they don’t really have to charge, because everyone ends up paying them in any case!

So, how do you set up your Gmail account so that you’ll be ready for others to send you messages, and in return you’ll be able to reply?!

SET UP GOOGLE – NOW!

Log in to www.gmail.com
Click on “Sign up for Gmail” (on the right hand side of the screen.)
Fill in your details. (Really straight forward… just read and follow instructions!)
Don’t forget, choose a strong password. As for your username, choose something meaningful and easy to remember. Something like “Justcallmethemillionairemanoftheinternet” may work and be accepted. It may even be meaningful, but it’s going to be hard for people to remember when communicating with you. Instead choose “millionaireman” making your email millionaireman@gmail.com It’s probably taken, so don’t be upset about that!

Before moving into blogs and webpages (which have a limitless amount of lessons to learning all their secrets!) – let’s continue on to doing things that we know we can do. We all can do something.

Imagine the lion for a moment with it’s sharp canines ready to sink them into prey… Imagine the powerful claws of the lion as it is about to grab it’s prey…

Imagine the diamond dealer with his minute sized drills…

Imagine the builder with his huge bulldozers…

Yes… we all have something that we can use that will enable us to make incomes worthy of that name! Nobody would think to deny the lion his claws… nor the builder his bulldozer. Because with each instrument that a person has to achieve the tasks he wishes to – so will he be successful.

Some of us enjoy working with our hands. And there’s so much we can do, from pottery to art, from photography to making hats!

Those of us who just can’t express ourselves best in words, have other things we can use. I don’t imagine the lion fooling his prey with a well prepared talk of the benefits of being eating up! I don’t imagine the builder preparing a speech in order to make a house appear! But we can all imagine ourselves being able to share something of what we can do – with others.

There are dozens of Internet sites abounding all over with opportunities to sell our work on them. We could make a list of at least two dozen! For today’s lesson, I’d like to focus on just one of them. ETSY.

Etsy is a great site because it allows you to sell whatever handmade creative work you’ve come up with. It’s really that simple! You spend your morning in the workshop using your hands and talents in handy-work, to create something beautiful. Something others may enjoy using or even just looking at. Who knows what it’s worth! As for you, it’s probably worth at least a million! Others may think less, but others may think more! Who ever would have thought in Van Gough’s day that his paintings would sell for millions of dollars and be so sought after?!

I suppose it comes down to prayer as well! But the making of a good artistic-something certainly goes a long way into making the sale an easier one!

So get started right away. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Log in to www.etsy.com

2. Click on Register (top of the page.)

3. Create your account – and don’t forget to choose a good password.

4. Make sure to mention you heard about them from “shearsuccess”!

5. DONE!

It really is this simple!

From here, it’s on to better things. You’re all set to sell, and sell you will!

SELL SELL SELL!!!

In order to sell, here’s a short list of things to do:

1. Sign in by clicking on the Sign In button at the top of the page.

2. Click on the Sell button at the top of the screen (or buy if you’d like to buy something.)

3. Click on “Get Started”

4. Follow the instructions. They’re easy enough to understand. You can place up to 5 different pictures of your item for people to see.

5. Price yourself carefully and make sure you’ll be making a really good profit! Don’t forget to take into account that Etsy will be taking a share of it as well (although it is quite reasonable.)

6. Give a good description of the item with good keywords so that others can find your product easily.

7. DONE!

We’ll be learning more in future lessons about the art of taking a beautiful photograph, sizing it and uploading it. The above steps however allow you to get started at the very least! You’ll be able to register, and to get your items (that you’ve already photographed) all set up for others to see.

The great thing about Etsy is that your item will be up for 4 months, giving others plenty of time to see what you’ve got. I’ve seen a lot of really successful people using Etsy and it seems people are happy with the system as well.

PAYMENTS

Many sites on the Internet give one various opportunities to receiving one’s money. Etsy allows for Money Orders, Personal Checks and of course our pal from lesson 1 – Paypal! One can see just how important Paypal is and the difference it can make in the ease of receiving payments. It is indeed the ultimate money vessel of the Internet right now.

If we're going to succeed in making money, there's one thing we all need:

A VESSEL

A vessel gives us the opportunity to hold in it whatever we are interested in placing inside it. The bigger the vessel, the more it will be able to hold, and the more we will be able to have. The smaller the vessel, the less we will be able to hold on to.

The famous story is told of the old days, where everybody would store their money under their mattresses (although I'm sure there are many who still do!) Of course, once one is making huge amounts of cash, it becomes a little difficult to do this - and a little uncomfortable for sleeping purposes as well!

And so, banks came about. Banks have evolved from institutions that would store huge sums of cash, to the additional and more necessary electronic storage system. Essentially banks store our money today in electronic form. Even though there must be real cash to have an effect, when we enquire about our money from a bank, we are not shown some huge vault with every cent we've earned. Instead, we receive a small piece of paper with a representative figure of it, indicating the value of money we have "saved" in the bank.

When it came to the issues of transferring money on the Internet, this same concept followed, when Paypal came about. Essentially Paypal is a secure Internet Banking system that allows money to pass by from one person to another in an electronic manner. The great thing about it, is that everybody who has a credit card - or a Paypal account with money in it - can make use of it to purchase things online - and of course to receive payments for their own things.

That means that even if a person is not registered as a credit merchant, he can still obtain funds from someone across the globe by means of asking for their credit card details. He incurs no credit card fees for the transaction, although Paypal do take a commission (which can easily be seen on their site.)

In addition to being able to sell things online - no matter what you have - and receiving payment for them, Paypal embedded another useful utility - the Donate utility. It works quite simply! Put one of these icons on to a web page or blog page of yours, and ask your friends and family - and of course every other person in the world to donate a small amount of their hard earned cash - for your noble causes.

These are the vessels. Suddenly what once may have been an outstretched arm with open hand asking for money, is exchanged for an icon on your web page allowing all and sundry to bestow their wealth for your own purposes. Isn't life terrific?!

So how much does it cost?! How does one go about joining the Paypal craze?! Will people actually trust this? Will I get paid? Is it reliable? How will I practically use it? Can I really make money on the Internet with such a simple system?!

COSTS:

Paypal costs practically nothing to join! It's open to a number of countries - although unfortunately not all yet. If you're in the USA and have a bank account, there will be no charge at all. If you are located in certain other areas - such as Israel, you will need to submit your credit card details to Paypal. They will take off $1.95 (at the time of writing this post) to check that everything is in order, but you will receive it back again when you withdraw your first amounts. So... you really don't lose anything!

If you do make use of the Israel system (for example) you will be charged another 22 Shekel each time you make a withdrawal, so do be careful not to take out your money in small quantities as it will end up costing you a lot!

Paypal also has certain restrictions as to how much you are allowed to take out in one day. You can find out more on their site, or alternatively email them to confirm exactly what the maximum amounts may be for your location. In Israel, one is only permitted to withdraw $750 per day.

HOW TO JOIN PAYPAL IN JUST A FEW EASY STEPS:

1. Go to www.paypal.com

2. Click on Sign-up

3. Choose what type of account you'd like - Personal, Premier or Business.

The information on the page is clear enough to help you select which is better for you.

If you're private and just purchasing things, go for personal.

If you're wanting to make some money yourself, choose Premier.

If you're serious about business transactions, you'll need to select Business.

Almost every single commercial site on the Internet is using Paypal. It's a huge success! Those who may mistrust such things as credit card transactions on the Internet etc., may just as well be concerned regarding their credit card in real life situations as well. It doesn't take much to use a credit card on the Internet, and whether or not the credit card is used for the Internet or in real life person - it is equally as easy to misuse it.

GETTNG PAID

It's an amazing feeling to log into one's account and see the wealth accumulating. But it just seems too unreal! Is it actually mine?!

Yes. With just a few clicks after logging into one's account, one can select how much money to retrieve. The money will either be deposited into one's bank account (if one is in a place like the USA) or alternatively onto one's credit card (if for example, one is in Israel.) Don't forget there are fees attached for the credit card!

It can take a few days or more for the money to come through, so don't get in a panic and do be patient.

Paypal works like a wonder! For those purchasing, they simply enter their credit card details with the normal numbers and expiry date etc. and the transaction is completed! For those receiving funds, the moment this happens, one will receive an email verifying the transaction has taken place. Check it out on your Paypal account directly if you're unsure of things.

There *are* phishers and others out there who regularly send emails requesting your personal details. These people will claim that they're Paypal and you know... "Just checking in... checking up... updating details" and the like! Don't reveal anything to them. Go back to your account and check that everything is in order, and never reveal your personal information to anyone claiming to be Paypal. If in ANY doubt about a Paypal transaction or email - that vaguely speaks of the need for you to reveal your personal information, be sure to log in to your account and email Paypal directly first!

PRACTICAL USE

You're going to want Paypal for two things. You're going to want donations! Everyone does! Almost every site making use of Paypal sticks the DONATE button somewhere where everybody can see it. Actually you might be amazed at just how many people want to help others involved in some sort of contribution to the Web.

You'll also want Paypal so that you can sell things to others.

We're going to speak about a number of things you can use the Internet for in order to let others know that you have something - that someone else wants! And with ease, you'll be able to let them know all about it, and - donate, or no donate - they'll be happy to pay using this nifty and easy tool!

CAN *I* MAKE MONEY USING PAYPAL?

YES! As they say with a click of the fingers - it's that simple! You're going to need to let others know what you have for them. You may wish to create a blog just like this one. It's easy to do as we'll learn together. Once you begin sharing something of yourself to others and what you have available for them, you'll be able to charge them - or of course to simply ask others to help in donating to your causes and allow you to progress in your own work. It's mutual. You give something to others who enjoy what you have to offer, and in return you see some sort of return on investment!

MONEY MONEY MONEY!

Having been involved in computers since I was a child, I know just as well as everyone else reading this does, that computers are the ultimate source for obtaining information today. When the Internet began (so many years ago already!) the concept of making information known completely changed, making practically everything available to whoever would want to see it.

Because of the power of the Internet, everyone out there wants to know just how to really tap into the force of the Internet and use it for their benefit. Most people love using computers and many feel themselves addicted to the pages that the Internet brings up to them. But of course... we all have to earn a living too. If only we could just find the means of using both desires in the easiest way - together - and be successful with it all, we'd be ecstatic!

There truly is a plethora of information available on the Internet on how to exploit it to make wealth. Many people know the secrets. Others know a few of them... and yet others wish they knew them. In fact, with so many sources available for becoming a millionaire - one can simply be boggled by looking at all the pages the Internet feeds us, and wonder where to turn, and just who to follow. I guess that might put me in the same category of, "What can you offer us, that we can't find elsewhere?"

You'll find articles on the Internet, videos, audio files to listen to. You'll see online stores with the latest books available. Guides for "dummies" and the like! You'll find links to reading all about the biographies of the world's wealthiest people and just how they've made their billions! But, we can't all keep up with everything available. What we really need is some simple teachings - teachings related directly to "How To Make Money on the Internet" (without the "waffling" in between!) explaining in simple English some of the most powerful tools available that can help each of us tap into the power of the Internet, so that each of us can generate our own income easily.

That's really what this blog is all about! My postings will teach about the best tools available that even the novice in computers can truly master. I'll share the technical points of "How to do...". I'll share just how much money you can make (REALLY!)

But there's so much more, because although the Internet can be fun, and one can indeed make millions and billions, I'll be sharing some tools that one can use to make some really special network connections with others, being able to talk with them through text, audio or video (FREE most times... and at minimal costs at others!) I'll be teaching you how to share your own creative thoughts with others, make new friends and give you the freedom to express yourself with others - who appreciate what you have to offer them.

That's really what we all need. To be able to express ourselves to others in ways that others can appreciate, giving us the self-confidence we need to boost our self-esteem, give us money in the bank, and bring us to experiencing a fulfilled life.

I've heard that money grows on trees... but... it's still a job to have to pick off the "fruit." Besides, I've never really seen a money tree! As everyone knows... money doesn't grow on trees. Actually all the gold of the world is to be found in a pot... at the end of the rainbow! This blog is all about following that rainbow right up until it's end point, so that we'll all clearly see that it's right there... right at the end of the rainbow!

Rainbows come about at the end of a good rain (and sometimes in the middle of it too!) Rain of course represents absolute blessing, the source of blessing (so long as it comes down in the right quantity!) Let's position ourselves under the "clouds", feel the moisture of the refreshing rains... get to that rainbow, and collect the gold!
